It feels like the new year just began, yet January 2026 is already moving quickly. The site introduced today is a global company located in the Ulsan chemical industrial complex, supplying specialty gases and chemical materials essential for semiconductor manufacturing processes.

๐Ÿ“‹ Site Condition: Problems at the Potassium Hydroxide (KOH) Outdoor Tank

This Ulsan plant handles large volumes of Potassium Hydroxide (KOH), a key raw material used in high-purity semiconductor chemicals for etching and cleaning supplied to major semiconductor manufacturers such as Samsung Electronics and SK hynix.
As a result, multiple outdoor storage tanks for potassium hydroxide are installed throughout the plant.

๐Ÿšจ Existing Problem:
The site had previously installed film-type leak detectors, but these had suffered severe corrosion and damage due to the outdoor environment and chemical exposure. To solve this problem, Yoohantech replaced them with its highly durable in-house product, the electronic point sensor leak detector (YHSP-SAR).

Fortunately, the receiver side was already equipped with Yoohantechโ€™s proven leak detection module (YHSM-04S-AR), allowing the work to be completed efficiently by replacing only the sensor side with the YHSP-SAR.

The photos above show the condition of the previously installed film-type leak detector. It had completely melted down due to changing outdoor conditions and chemical gas exposure, making reuse impossible. This is a representative example showing the durability limits of film-type sensors, even when a protective cover is used.

These photos show the piping and wiring work carried out to remove the existing film-type sensor and install the electronic point sensor (YHSP-SAR). Although this area is not classified as an explosion-proof zone, the installation was carefully completed using highly durable steel piping in consideration of the plantโ€™s harsh operating environment. This is the Yoohantech expert team at work with close attention to detail.

These images show the moment just before removal, when the old film-type detector and the newly installed point sensor were present together. As you can see, even with a protective cover, the film-type sensor was easily damaged by the outdoor environment. This clearly demonstrates the inherent limitations of the film-type method.
