This is an installation case of an alkaline chemical leak detection system at a secondary battery materials plant in Gwangyang, Jeollanam-do, South Korea. To help prevent chemical incidents at the source, we applied the Electronic Leak Point Sensor (YHSP-SAR) optimized for key raw-material production lines such as nickel and cobalt, along with a SUS waterproof receiver enclosure.

The site introduced here is a specialized manufacturer of key secondary battery materials, located in Gwangyang, Jeollanam-do.
Since this facility produces core battery raw materials such as nickel, cobalt, lithium, and MHP, rigorous safety management is required.

Because the handled media contains strong alkaline components, we selected and installed an โalkaline-dedicated electronic leak point sensorโ system with excellent chemical resistance.

Since the plant interior is a non-Ex area, the conduit termination for the leak detection system was finished with โGW waterproof flexible conduit.โ This improves installation convenience by allowing the sensor position to be relocated flexibly in the future when equipment layouts change.

Considering the plantโs humidity and chemical exposure, we custom-fabricated and installed the leak alarm control receiver enclosure using corrosion-resistant SUS (stainless steel).
This enables stable long-term operation of the leak detection system without concerns about corrosion, and the customer was very satisfied.

Looking inside the receiver, two 4-channel leak detection control modules, YHSM-04S-AR, are installed to manage multiple sensors efficiently.
A backup battery is also built in for emergency situations. Even in the event of a power outage, this backup battery keeps leak detection active for at least one hour, preventing any safety gap.
