Today, we would like to share an installation case of an acid and alkali leak detection system at a liquor production plant in Changwon, Korea.

This company produces one of Koreaโs well-known soju brands, and its headquarters and core production facilities are located in the Bongam Industrial Complex in Changwon.
Because acid and alkali chemicals are used in the production process, this site requires the installation of a liquid leak detection system to ensure compliance with the Chemicals Control Act and maintain a safe working environment.

Most liquor products are acidic, but it seems that alkaline reduced water is used in part of the process.
It is said that when clean water from the Daegwallyeong area is converted into alkaline reduced water and used in soju production, the liquor contains abundant natural minerals such as calcium, sodium, and potassium. The fine particles of alkaline reduced water are also believed to penetrate more deeply between alcohol molecules, resulting in a smoother taste.

The electronic liquid leak point sensor (YHSP-AR01) was installed neatly and securely.

One of the biggest advantages of this sensor is that its position can be flexibly adjusted depending on the surrounding environment. Since liquor plants frequently wash their floors with water, the leak detector sensor can be moved aside during cleaning and then placed back in position, making maintenance and management very convenient.

The left image shows the installation of the leak alarm monitoring unit, while the right image shows the internal wiring of the unit.

This site uses a total of 8 channels, so two leak detection modules (YHSM-04S-AR) were installed. Each module can connect up to four acid and alkali leak detector sensors, making it efficient for multi-point chemical leak monitoring and accident prevention.

Although not visible in the photo, the system also includes a backup battery so that the leak detection system can continue operating during an emergency power outage. Even if power is suddenly lost, the monitoring system can remain active for more than one hour, helping prevent any safety gap.

Once installation is complete, thorough commissioning and testing are essential.
The left image shows the point sensor immersed in a container filled with actual reagent to check its response speed, and the right image shows the monitoring unit immediately activating the leak alarm.

The installed electronic liquid leak point sensor (YHSP-SAR) is an economical reusable product. Even after detecting a leak, it can be cleaned with fresh water and used again, which significantly reduces consumable costs.
